Brands leveraging platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Hybris have a lot of built-in “features” but can’t iterate and test fast enough to find the optimal conversion funnel. On the other hand, challenger brands were able to unlock meaningful growth by leveraging Shopify Plus’ infrastructure to test and iterate. It appears brands have to choose between feature-rich platforms or feature-light platforms that allow them to test and iterate. The reality is that Shopify Plus can deliver on both but not on its own and most of the partner ecosystem isn’t equipped to solve these problems.
WHY CURRENT SYSTEMS FAIL
Shopify primarily catered to small brands until a few years ago. As such, many of the apps and integrations that exist for Shopify Plus brands don’t cater to brands looking to achieve meaningful scale. As some of the largest eCommerce brands in the world grew or migrated to Shopify Plus, a major gap appeared not with the platform but with the Partner ecosystem.
